I'm Rome, Founder of 1X Stronger together.

After returning from Afghanistan I had a few friends come out and say they were suffering from mental health issues, but the shock came when I received a phone call telling me that a friend had ended his own life.
That was when I realised that it’s so easy for someone to put on a fake smile and pretend everything is okay, when really they are drowning in their own mind.
The reason for 1X is for those who suffer in silence for those who feel like they're on their own.
I want people to realise that it is okay to not be okay; that whatever they are dealing with they are not alone!

Each year 1X members get together to help raise money for a mental health charity by enduring a physical challenge

In 2020 we box jumped the height of Mount Everest wearing combat body armour
In 2021 we dragged a land rover for a marathon
In 2022 we did a 3 stage casualty evacuation with a 10 mile beach stretcher run, 1000m boat push and 1000m crawl/drag
​
In 2023 we biked from Eiffel Tower (France) to the London eye (Britain) within 24 Hours
​
In 2024 we bear crawled for a marathon, 26.2 miles in relay style
​
Over the years 1X has raised thousands for charity and we're not finished yet!
